That all depends on the type of primer, paint and laquer you are using, my 1st car was the 306 and i did the full color coding in 2 days using 2k primer and water based top coat, and 2k laquer easy job really. Leaving the rub strips and bumpers on is the easy option, but be carefull of over spray and partical drift. For the best finish you should flat the surface 1st using a 120 - 180 grain paper, with out being excessive, and then smooth off with a 1500 - 1800 wet and dry, 3m's & mirka do a brilliant range of sanding products.
