I don't have auto lights.
Why would the aircon need a brightness sensor??

Its as magma said. It needs it for auto aircon to know the position of the sun and intensity, so it can redirect the area where you will feel hottest Pretty smart thing i love how it works.

Can't say I have a problem with it, just wondered what it was.
The only problem I have with my aircon is that it stops working every now and again and won't heat up.
Fan works ok just no heat. If it doesn't work on the way to work, it usually works on the return trip, annoying but no biggie.

So where is this sensor? I too thought that dome was for the auto headlights? or does it do both?
