I'm badly hankering for another 406, BUT they are getting on abit now and they are slowly dissapeering.
I would have liked a 406 SE HDi 110. 6 months ago there was always 10-15 of them on auto trader, now theres lucky to be 5. So dosen't give me much choice. Now I'm looking at 407 X-Line 1.6's. It will have to be the 1.6 HDi for insurance reasons. Can someone confirm that X-Lines definatley don't have a FAP? Also if I was to get it remapped whats the chances of the tuner 'installing' a map with a FAP on it and totally nackering it up? Are there any reccomended tuners to go for? What sort of power can I expect? Also looking to get a turbo back exhaust system with just a rear silencer along with a panel filter just to help it breath abit. Also what reccomended for handling modifications? Was thinking along the lines of new OEM shocks and some Eibach pro springs for a ~35mm drop. And last few questions... Do these engines just use 5w30 Fully synth oil like most modern diesels? What are the service intervals including belts and other filters? Plan is to pick up a 05-07 X-Line with 100-120k on the clock (FSH ideally) and drop it straight into the local Peugeot specialist for a good look over, replace the belts, replace the front lower ball joints and a good service. Then just service is regularly after that. I did make a thread a while ago and had a fair bit of advice, but now looking abit more into getting a 407. Cheers, Bailes. Oooo... Edit, I also fancy a leather interior. I know they seem to be like hens teeth on ebay but whats the chances of retrofitting a set of leathers that have electrics? Or would it be easier to have my seats retrimmed? |

Shame you're after an x-line as I have a very good 1.6 HDI SE for sale.

Are you sure about the Cruise Control on SE's, I've not seen a single SE without Cruise Control.
X-Lines don't have a FAP and if it went to a remapper, a proper one, they don't 'install' a pre-defined map, they edit your original. Phil |

Fitted cruise control back in August and sorted out the DPF and replaced MAF and EGR valve so it should be good for another 80k!
