Planet questions.

Hi peeps due to my 2.0hdi SE SW developing a misfire at 1300 - 1600 rpm in first second and third, I have booked it into my friendly garage who I have a reciprocal agreement with. I was just wondering if there were any specific tests that they should run? they have planet but any pointers would be great as they don't often use it as they are an auto gearbox specialist.

TBH I was thinking that or camshaft speed sensor, if you nail it it's fine but I can't afford the diesel

Mine developed miss/hesitation after fitting new egr earlier this year. I was told it would need learning with planet but this is not the case, car soon learns new egr but had miss but was not showing any faults, found that it needed ecu update for newer model egr.

Cars are getting more like computers needing updating every so often.

Would planet show if I needed an ecu update? And if so is this a stealer job

No planet (non dealer version) won't show you if it's an update you need and it's dealer only as they connect to pug database to download update to your car.
Only dealers can tell you if there is any update's also!!!
