Unhappy NOOB with a problem, drivers door wont lock!

Hi guys Ive just joined up here because my dad just got himself a 407... I only wish he waited until i had the time to have a look at it because its got pretty much every problem possible..

He had the key falling apart but im fixing that for him (not going to pay the £200+ quoted at the stealers!)

So now i've got all the buttons on the fob working it still doesn't lock the drivers door! lights flash, mirrors fold and all that but if i pull the handle door opens and alarm goes off?!?!?!? Any of you clever lot got any ideas?

Plus hes got the buggered climate control (quoted £2500 to fix at the stealers :O)

thanks for the help in advance!

There is a thread for faulty climate control on this forum, hit the search box. The key may need to be reprogrammed also. There is a thread for that too, have a look on the "how to section"/key reprogramming its quite simple. Failing that a search for faults with pp2000 may uncover some more info, good luck with it.

I would more likely think its something to do with the central locking than the key - the car is obviously recognising the key as it flashes, mirrors and sets the alarm. Check central locking fuses.

the only reason why im fixing the key because it fell apart and did not lock the car at all, ill have a look at the fuses tomorrow but surely if it locks all the other doors it wouldnt be a fuse on its own for the drivers side?

Does the key manually lock the door?
Does the drivers door lock if pressing the lock button on the dash whilst in the car?

If the door locks manually with the key, but not with the dash button or the key fob, then that to me says the central locking on the drivers door is the problem
