Default Are all Borg MFDs Dodgy?

Having tried to repair my MFD without success, I've been sent a replacement by a breakers who assured me it came off a post 2007 407 and that they're happy to take it back if it's the wrong one. Turns out to be a Borg item with the white casing. Should I try it out or just return as I may risk invalidating any returns policy?
