Default peugeot planet automatic vin collection

Does peugeot planet collect the vin/build code automatically on a XU engine 2 liter petrol ECU?

Reason why I ask is that I have a donor ECU and have to get the car serviced as I don't have PP in order to code out a key that might be lost. Previous owner wasn't sure as the car had two owners before him. Thusfar my local dealer got stuck on wrong build code/vin not allowing them to access these options in PP. Thanks in advance.

Thanks (again) Betty, I don't think it has a BSI though. They said so at the garage and the fuse box looks like this. So an OBD connector and 3 rows on a gray box but no 'cassette'-like thing underneath. Unless I am mistaken on BSI appearance/location. It's a mark 1 xu-engined coupe.

Ok, anyone...

dealer redirected me to an ECU tuning company, they want about £125 for 15 minutes of work but claim the VIN can just be 'read' from donor ECU (don't know if they mean that it has to be opened up though didn't sound like that anyway)

So apparently it's not possible via PP but how can this be done?

ps: car has no BSI, third confirmation from that same tuner company
