Noisy A/C!

Hi All,

Great forum this. I've learned loads just by searching already! Unfortunately I can't find an answer to this so any advice is appreciated!

I bought my 406 1.9TD (98) a few days ago. I tested the aircon on the drive home and it blows nice cold air no problem. However, while parked I hit the button and (what I assume to be the A/C pump) is really noisy!!!! Sounds like a Dyson under the bonnet! Is this normal on this engine or is there an issue?

I say "on this engine" as I previously owned a 406 1.8 petrol, and I don't remember the A/C thinking it was a Hoover then....
