Default mysterious cut out

Hi, i have a 2.0hdi 110 on a 2000 plate, a weird problem happened i was driving on the motorway at about 60 then tried to accelerate and as soon as i hit 2k revs the eml came on and the car cut out, after restarting the car was ok and turbo working fine for the 30 mile trip home, i turned the eml light off by using the on/off 12times with the key method. my first thought was fuel filter as i ran out of fuel about 500miles ago and didnt change it as all has seemed ok. Any help would be appreciated.

I have looked around the forum but couldnt really find anything the same, did take a sample of fuel from the fuel filter drain and it looks good, no filings or contaminates. Problem hasnt happened since earlier today.

I've looked on the planet map but I can't see anyone in birmingham, don't really want to go to the thieves at peugeot.

If you can find somebody even 100 miles away from you, you'll save money by not going to the dealers. Plus you'll be getting it done by a forum member who'll follow the advice on the forums, not a dealer who'll sidetrack you by saying the fault code means you need the chassis replaced

3 questions

1: When was the distribution belt and aux parts changed or was it ever changed?

2: Are you getting a cam shaft error code?

3: Was the car's fuel line or diesel filter checked, if there's a leak in the fuel line it will suck in air because diesels work on a vacuum feed system.

I have the same problem and feels sometimes like the car has been stopped with a sledge hammer.
In 2 weeks more or less I'm having the belt, aux parts and water pump replaced. And I'll replace the cam sensor myself.
