My 406 tdi lacks power

Hi all,my pug is sluggish.Its not to bad driving round town but when im on the motorway or an a road it really struggles to reach speed,especially if there is a incline.Also noticed a few times that it has totally lost power,like it is braking on its own,normally when i change gear it solves the problem.Any advice would be appreciated as im not in anyway mechanically minded.

The engine management light is on,but no codes

you will have to the car hooked up to planet for a full diagnosis...you can either do that by contacting a forum member local to you or going to peugeot themselves.

to find a local member, find a post by "bettyswollocks" and in his signiture block there is a link to find planet holders.
