my 406 keeps cutting out

i have a 2.0 hdi 406. it has intermittent running problems
some days it will run fine with no probs other days you can be driving along at a steady 6omph and the engine will just stop. however it will restart again after a few second but the engine management light comes on. we have changed the in tank fuel pump last year replaced the fuel filter in the engine. we have fixed a leaking injector and even replaced the battery in the key fob however nothing seems to have worked some days i cant get the car of the drive we have run out of ideas on how to fix the problem. the exhuast is blowing as well the car has done nearl 180000miles since the year 2000

You really want the codes reading otherwise you end up chasing your tail and spending more money than you need to
