Hi,
Just wondering if the leather seats from a 406 executive D9 will fit ok in my 406 glx D9. My car already has electric seats minus the memory functions and heated seats... Would it be a straight swap? Im not to fussed about the memory and heats working. Thanks Phill |

I believe if you take the drivers seat switch from the glx seat and fit it to the leather seats, then you will be good to go
Passenger seat just has a live and an earth to power it up on the glx and the leather The drivers glx is the same, just a live and an earth The drivers leather is a lot different, needing the ECU and feeds from the mirrors as well ( feed from mirrors is required for the memory to work, but seat electrics will work without it, just no memory function) By fitting the glx seat switch, you get rid of the need for anything other than your existing wiring Not aware of the situation regarding heated elements in a GLX, whether they have them or not, so can't say whether you can plug and play with them It is possible to retrofit, as initially I fitted executive leathers to a D8 using an ECU ( although in hindsight, if i'd know you could just use the glx switch i'd of done that as it's cheaper, easier, and takes up less room) and then latter fitted the wiring and switches to get the heated elements working |

As you'll be dealing with the airbag system on your car, disconnect your battery and opinions differ, but some say leave ten minutes, some say leave 30 mins, to let any residual energy to dissipate out the system.
The seats themselves are held in place by 4 torx screws IIRC they are T40 You'll need also to remove the cover off the side of the seat, which has a single torx at the rear to enable you to remove the seatbelt mounting, which is probably a 17mm, but don;t quote me. The switch itself, is held in place by 4 clips, so just a case of easing it out The wiring for the switch is usually held in place by some clips to the frame of the seat, so unclip, and swap the switch and wiring between the two seats The rears are straightforward enough, and at the front of the base, you should have two plastic covers, which remove to reveal two nuts, undo and the base will pull forward to release. Fold the backs forward to gain access to the bolts to undo the rears Have fun If you are anywhere near Hinckley in Leicestershire, i'd gladly assist |

I have a D8 ( may as well call it a D8.5 as it has a HDi engine, D9 wing mirrors, D9 dash carcass, D9 rear shelf ) in glx flavour
It had the velour trim, but a hole appeared in the drivers seat, so I switched to Leather As it's not a D9 it didn't come with electric seats, so i've had to retrofit the wiring to get it all up and running I guess, the question of whether the leather is more comfortable is a strange one In all honesty, I thought the velour was a tad more comfortable, plus you don't have the issues with the leather being too hot in summer, and too cold in winter But, do I regret fitting it, well, not really, makes the car look a lot classier, and you've got the electric adjustment, and the heated seats. In hindsight, I wouldn't of bothered fitting the ecu and ecu tray under the drivers seat, as without the mirror feeds, the memory can't work ( although i fancy having a go at getting the wiring and some electric folding mirrors and the D8 switch to suit and getting them working )Am I serious about helping? Of course Do I want anything for it, not really, but a few bevvies to the cause wouldn't hurt ![]() One final thing, I didn't see you mention the age of your D9, but when buying seats, just make sure you get like for like - what I mean is, if your car is equipped with side airbags, make sure you buy seats with side airbags make that two final things if you buy seats out of a scrapper, and that had been in a crash, even if the pre-tensioners look ok, i'd use the ones out of your existing carWhen I fitted mine, the pre-tensioners looked fine, but one fired, and I had to take the seat back out again, to change Offer stands, so let me know when you are ready |

Not 100% but would of thought the 2000 ones won;t have side airbags, whereas yours being a 2002 could very well have side airbags, so you need to double check
