I realised after buying my old 1997 406 2 litre GLX petrol that there was no sign of any paperwork with the immobiliser code, the car has the old keypad system but is currently set to arm/disarm with the remote. I've read elsewhere on the net about if the battery goes flat or is removed that the car will require me to enter the code into the keypad. I am a tad concerned about this, I also want to connect an amp to the aftermarket stereo and I expect it will involve the battery terminals being disconnected and I'm worried that it will be asking for the code. Can anyone help me? Will it definately ask for the code? My only option is finding someone with PP2000 to read the ecu which I hope will give me the code, am in the process of contacting someone about it.

pp2000 won't get your code for you, might be worth getting in contact with bettyswollocks on here he'll be able to help out for a small fee.

I can`t take credit for this as i found it on the net
![]() "every one out there with this fault it can be sorted out in a couple of hours trust me i did it today the keypad immoboliser stops the fuel getting in to the car so all u have to do is bypass keypad at fuel pump (fuel stop solinoid to be exact) step 1 remove the casing covering solonoid with angle grinder (its the only way)unscrew solinoid after cutting the wire at the top only cut the one that goes to the top of solinoid but leave plenty of room for conneting up later then remove spring from the inside. step 2 find the positive side of solinoid and mark it refit solinoid with out spring wire the posotive terminal to an ignition wire found in secondary fuse box (by battery) and the other treminal to negative terminal to battery step 3 start car and enjoy. " And this is an old post by "Risky" (Ron) "The coded anti-start system can be programmed in two different ways. -Automatic mode, where the system is controlled by the remote control,or -Manual mode ,where the system is controlled by illumination of the green light. Programming the system in auto mode..... 1- Switch on ignition. 2-Enter your confidential code (confirmed with illumination of the green light) 3- Whithin 10 secs press the following buttons C 1 C Confirmation is by four green flashes and four beeps. Your system is now in automatic mode Using the system in automatic mode -Unlock the doors using the remote control -you can start the engine. if the remote control does not work ,enter your confidentiel code manually. Cheers for that, still hoping I find a way of getting the code though. The second explanation is in the manual but without the code I can't do anything!

After all that, I had a call from the previous owner yesterday. He'd spoke to owner before him and confirmed that the immobilier keypad had actually been disconnected, so I don't even bloody need the code lol.
