Default Immobiliser

Hello all.

I've a 2001 2.0HDi (90 horse) estate that has thrown up an immobiliser fault

The car has been lying up for a while having been replaced so I went out to start it yesterday and it was dead. Tried to jump start it but no-joy. Took the battery out and charged it overnight. Replaced the battery this morning but forgetting to go through the gentle wakeup procedure.

Anyways I've ended up with an immobiliser fault.

I've tried a BSI reset (a couple of times) but still no joy
I've had a look through some of the posts on here and there's mention of immobiliser codes and keypads.
I don't have the code but will ring a dealer tomorrow to see if I can get it. But if I do where is this keypad?

Also is there any other things I can try to rectify my problem

Thanks

Garry

If your car has a keypad it will be to the right of the steering wheel , i would say you don`t have one and what you need to do is recode your keys , for this you need your codes (which i can get for £5 paypal) and someone with pp2000 diagnostics .

Good man,
I'll ring around a few places tomorrow and check if there's anyone locally that has the pp2000 diagnostics. Then get back to you on the codes tomorrow if all goes well.

Would any car electric/diagnostic centre have the pp2000 or am I looking at a main dealer?

Sorry for the stupid questions but does the car have to be put onto the diagnostics or is it just the keys?

You need to plug into the car and you need the keys at the same time to recode them to the car .

No question is stupid , its how we all learn

Cheers folks. The nearest on the list is Galway (bout an hour and a bit away) so I'll have a look locally tomorrow and try to get sorted
