Hmmm
Decided to fix the main crank seal myself and the first problem I encountered was..I didn't have right size socket for the Hub nut on the front Wheels. Got it on from local and tried to release the Big nut. Something with enough leverage...well my torque wrench of course. First off sheared the 1/2" drive on the torque wrench. Next level of play engage the T-bar with tube on T-bar ....all happens now is I'm bending the T-bar. Can someone advise please? Mike Have come to conclusion this is still do-able and shall remove hub along with driveshaft..just have to remove hub from suspension arm and lower swivel. Anybody done it this way and why doesn't Haynes manual recommend it?? It's so annoying the way these manuals are set up, you have to filter through all the individual chapters cross referencing back and forward to find half of the instructions are not required. I'm sure they'd have you strip the entire engine just to change the light bulb. scuse me while I have a little hissy fit........EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKK K!!!!! There I feel better now for sharing that. 'calmer' Mike Just wasted £10 on the 34mm socket didn't I......Time for N'other cup of tea and swallow 'The little book of Calm' bought a breaker bar after doing left hand side...so easy with the right tools..and when you know what your doing...also bought ball joint tool after I wrecked the left hand locknut on my track rod end. I will learn one day... Last edited by bradleyor; 04-08-2011 at 05:29 PM. Reason: meditated on problem |
