Default Help indicator and aircon issues

We have a 2001 406 HDI and are having problems with two seprate issues.
The first is the indicator keeps going on by itself always the same way.

The fan for the aircon doesn't go unless we flick the key towards turning the car over once the car is already going.

Can anyone help us with some ideas

as david says the stalk. there is a mod on here somewhere that basically costs you £2 (if that) to fix. i bet it drops down to flash the left indicators.

The air con is working but the fan motor isn't blowing. If you wiggle the key when the car is running (like you are turning the car on again) this starts the fan.

Doesn't putting the key into start give a higher current through stuff like starter, air con etc.? So there may be some resistance. Have you checked fuses? I know fuses are either working or not working but its a very cheap replacement...

How hard is it to get your air con out?

Default indicators

i used to have a problem like this on my 406, turned out it was the electrical plug on my tow bar getting water in, cleaned terminals off and sprayed with WD40, used to last about a year then i had to repeat cleaning again
