fuel rail sensor
hi, i have a 406 2.0hdi recently under hard acceleration it just dies. Had a diagnostic done and it said fuel rail pressure sensor (middle of the rail?) However this got me thinking the sensor sends a signal to the ecu to say shut down engine so the diagnostic would blame the fuel rail sensor? But it may not be the sensor thats at fault its just getting the blame for leaving a finger print on the ecu. Am i over analysing this and trying to be to logical?
Sooo my questions are, would a faulty fuel pressure sensor cause the engine to cut out under hard acceleration? Is it a common fault? Or might it be the fuel pressure regulator at fault?
Thanks in advance.
