starcott Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Posts: 4	Fifth gear difficult to find W Reg 1.8 petrol estate I'm having increasing difficulty finding 5th gear. When I can find it it doesn't feel a positive movement. I thought the problem would be connected with the gear change mechanism but when I spoke to a mechanic at my local garage, he said that if the all the joints were still connected, then the problem would be in the gearbox.
