Got myself a cheapy Elm 327 and had one good connect with vehicle. Cleared a couple of faults and eventually got car started after starter motor serviced. Further problems ensued and had to drop gearbox for oil seal replacement. all back together and car wont start again. Square one... Am I having difficulties cos I'm running windows seven?
Easyobd11 is the one that seems to work, but is now not detecting any faults. Scan master elm seems too work also but finds faults and fails to clear them permanently. gearbox fluid temp, fuel something over power, and 1b12 non specific engine bitty thing. Should I install xp and have another bash or is "planet" the only way with this. I think its an ew type engine its the smallest one cc wise cant remember numbers I'm getting too old....and frustrated with electrical guff. Sledgehammer usually frightened things into working in my day. Basil fawlty had the right idea. I won't really have to install xp...I'll knick one of the kid's computers... they refused to upgrade again. |

You know...I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I'm going to have to roll over another month till the wages come in again so I can get the dongle. I've seen them between £80 -£300 on E-Bay. Any ideas on the best seller..I've noticed one or two comments that software hasn't activated properly.
Sods law...get a nice looking car for next to nothing and then have to spend hundreds on it. thanks Mike |

Yup, I saw that one its the £80 one when the post is added.. I shall try and get it next wage pack before the missus overdraughts it to the max again, I usually have a two day window each month before she realises the money's in the bank. Bless her, she can cook though.
Is this the one the other fella was having problems with the activation? Mike |
