Went to a breakdown yesterday , 406 won`t start , red key on dash , code reading done, nothing wrong , check BSI to see if keys coded , it is ,
noticed when doing global scan the red key light went off so decided to try car while doing scan ,and hey presto she starts and light stays off , might not work on all but worth a try. |

Hi Sweaty
Tis me again..I took my ECU to a guy who told me it was fried in the part that 'speaks' to the engine ecu. Took his word for it and have now bought an ECU and BSI from 'a-bey'. I think I'll have a go at the above method before fitting the new set. Any advice on setting the new lot up? My current primary concern is that the coil pack which is a scrappy re-placement may have caused all this and don't know how to check. Mike |
