Hi guys
Been reading through the threads. My front washer started to workthis morning, but then immediately dribbled to a halt. It was freezing outside and not sure how much additive put in the wash liquid. The back washer was still working, which would suggest the pump was ok. Could not see any fuses blown in the box above battery. But rear wash has now also stopped working. Any suggestions gratefully received. |

Almost certainly, the pipes are frozen. Much depends on the screenwash you buy. Always buy the neat stuff, not the ready to use type. (I mix mine up in a supermarket large size milk bottle This sort of weather, I'd suggest at least 50%.
The trouble you will have at the moment is that the pipe from the washerbottle to the sprayhead will be solid ice. There's not much you can do about this and tipping neat screenwash into the bottle won't help as it won't reach the pipe. If you have a garage and a fan heater you can trust, that might defrost it and then the more concentrated (i.e. the stuff that won't freeze) solution should be pumped through. (You could bring the car into the living room but my experience is that wives are unreasonable about such things.) |

Thanks for the response. You were correct, just so cold that the engine heat did not thaw it.
