Question 1991 2.0HDI Estate !!Electrics!!

Hello All,

When I turn the ignition key to the off position and the engine stops the central locking will lock the car.
My neighbours have stated that they have seen the hazard lights flash at random intervals.
Yesterday I changed the battery as it seemed not be holding its charge if the car was not driven for a week.
I also noticed today that the hazard lights flash if I activate my electric garage door and also if I reset the alarm on my motorcycle by using the motorcycle fob.
Is there a known issue with the "fob sensor" in the car?
I also noted from other posts that the central locking can have problems if there is water ingress into the driver footwell - this is dry.
I have no other warning lights active when the car is running.

Have been very happy with this car over the past 9 years....

Any advice or ideas welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Bonzo

Hi Chrissy,

Well spotted!! I seem to have lost 10 years - I still think I am in my thirties!!!

It is a 2001 - Y prefix.

Thanks
Bonzo.
