Well bad is a bit of an understatement... It is nigh on impossible!
When the engine is stone cold, she starts up fine, a little hesitant, but she is an old In-Direct Injection diesel with 300,000 miles on the clock! However, when the engine is warm, she is almost impossible to restart. She just keeps on cranking and cranking and cranking until she finally roars into life. My coolant is fine, my oil is fine, it had new pistons 20,000 miles ago which were ran in for 5,000 miles by keeping under 2,800RPM. So I can't understand it... She runs fantastically, has lots of power, and I mean lots! That turbo gives the motor a real kick up the back side! Can anybody help ? I love taking the car with me when I go out, but I'm having to take my Saab now because of the Pug's problem! Oh, and the engine is the 1.9TD. |
