Hi all newbie here.
![]() ![]() Not expecting lots of answers given the date of the last post but here goes. Got a massive fuel leak from fuel pump, now, is there a repair kit avaiable for the fuel pump or do i have to get a replacement part? And which ones will fit? I have recently got a 1996 N' reg style diesel. Do you have to take the engine out or is it an easy replacement? Thanks in advance. |

Hello and welcome,
it's not an engine out, overhaul is possible but requires specialised tools, easier to get a good one from a breakers or off ebay, basically 2 types fitted a bosch unit and a lucas one.(the bosch is a better unit and favoured by Biodiesel/chip fat buning fans) there are some variations on solenoids fitted so match them up to your pump. If you decide to swap from a lucas to bosch you'll have to swap the mounting plate and injectors. And put a new timing belt on at the same time. Hope this helps |

You won't need to remove the timing belt. The injector pump sprocket can be left behind with the belt on. The sprocket just need to be held in position to the backing plate with two studs.
Save you a few pound!
