Warning Light help:

Wonder if anyone can avised to what this could be.
The weather is -4 and driving today a warning light came on (Engine auto dianostics system)
Checked this out in the manal and it said (depollusion deactivated a fault in engine manegement system)
1 x Is it still ok to drive the car which is driving well even with the warning light on.
2 x What could it be.
3 X what is the best plan of action to take ?

The car has done 18500 miles

1600 cc

Christine you need it on a Diagnostic ,what it is showing you is the generic name for any fault,
check your fluid levels and post your location to see if you`re near anyone that can help,
lights make you worry but until you find out what it is you`re shooting in the dark ,
good thing to remember is Red light STOP, orange light is warning to check.

ps you`re still under warranty?

Sorry I have not back right away have been away.
Have checked all levels etc and seem ok.
How do I get into Diagnostic mode.
As I said in my first posting on the display its showing.
(depollusion deactivated a fault in engine manegement system)
The warranty has run out end of Jan 2011.
Do I need to take the car to Peugeot to be checked over.

A good local garage can do a quick diagnostic,price them first ,peugeot garage can be between £30/£80 price them before you go through the door .

ps, Jan 2011 gives you another month to get it back to garage.

Thanks for the feed back so far.
The car went in to Peugeot December 2010 they said nothing was wrong and reset the sensors or the computer.
Been ok up until now January 22nd and the warning light up came on again.
Just wondered if anyone can thow some light about this.
Going to have to ring them again to have it rechecked
The warrenty runs out the end of January 2011 so would like to be able to make sure this won't happen again.

I don't want to be charged for this once the warrenty runs out at the end of this month - this is the second time in less than a month so its seems to me that its the same on going issue that has not been resolved. Anyone any ideas what i can say to the garage so that i don't charged next month if it continues to be an issue.

Christine you need to get a print out of the faults before they clear them , an engine management light comes on for a reason we need to know what this reason is , get it back in and say there must be a problem and its the same one as last time so its still under warranty.

The car went in and the timing chain link had to be replace, think they replace the whole timing chain.

So all in its been sorted.
