I just got a 308 SE 58reg 1.6 HDI 110bhp 6 gear, with 54,000 on the clock, full service history its been well looked after it will have a shock with me as its new owner lol
Any good? Im slighty concerned that the miliage is high? but not sure since its a diesel engine. Ive got a 307 55reg head gasket has gone its only done 47000 miles and its got full service history have i been unlucky? Thanks |

54,000 in 3/4 years isn't that high... my 2.0HDI 306 used to do 25-30k a year, and went on until 190k before someone wrote it off

It's high enough that I wouldn't buy it. the average in the UK is 10,500 miles per year, and seeing as the dealers and Auto Trader are choc full of well priced 308s at low mileages I can't think of any reason why you'd want a high miler. Like as not you're nigh on half way to needing a new/cleaned FAP etc.
