hi just got 09/ 308 and i heard somewhere about that the radio can be programed by peugeot to be able to read and play mp3 discs is this correct or just wishful thinking

If the head unit has "MP3" printed on the front, it will already play MP3 discs. The handbook describes the file and folder specifications required. If it doesn't say "MP3" then there's nothing can be done, short of upgrading the head unit. IIRC only the Sport and SE trim levels, and the GT model have this.
