remote key doesn't work

Just bought 307 XR 1.6
but the remote key doesn't work.
Is it just the battery?
Also might need a new key cover since this one button where i press for
unlocking is punch in. Any ideas?

Would say a new battery , probably wasn`t replaced because it kept running down on the last owner because the button that is bust was pressing against it all the time , so new cover needed aswell.

OK THANKS BETTY,
I put a new cover on, replaced the battery, now the lock push button works,
but the unlock button doesn't...do I need to also replace micro switch?
How do I go about it?

A second hand fob for parts from a scrapyard and some fine soldering i think would do it

But not my kind of soldering , i would just melt everything .
