Default Peugeot Turbo Problems! HELP!!!

13 months ago I bought a 2005 Peugeot 307 2.0 HDI turbo 135hp SW with 135k on the lcd. I love the car but a turbo problem has arisen over the last 2 months. It has deteriorated and has the following behavior:

Starts and ticks over fine. When cold it pulls off ok, but when warm it feels like it cuts out for half a second every couple of seconds (I have to keep the revs up and slip the clutch to get going). Then as speed increases I get what sounds like "blow back" as it stutters - a bit like a soft sneeze, if you know what I mean.

The turbo has always sounded like a police siren but never caused problems. Now I can hear the turbo speed increasing and decreasing every second, like it can't decide what to do.

A man with a computer told me it was the Turbo boost solenoid error showing. A mechanic has changed that (he called it something different) and it made no difference. He is now scratching his expensive hair-do.

Can anyone help with this mini-disaster?
