hi, still got my 307 on drive, no mot,or tax just sat there ,mine is good if you stop ,lock ,unlock restart then drive will give me the gears back??, i,m positive that the gearbox is good, everyone is saying its a low pressure from cold, change valve body and solonoids reset at peugeot any updates change the oil and refill properly then fine, did,nt work for me , if you change gearbox for secondhand one get mechanic to refit ,could end up with same problem, i,m on the case to solve so if anybody else with advise great ,fire away with suggestions.

Thanks for the update. I have just phoned a local specialist auto box repairer. He reckons it is a common problem with the whole range of boxes fitted to the PSA range (or whatever they are called). He did one last week and has another in this week for a refit of the valve body at 450 plus the vat. Cures the problem in 9 out of 10 cases. Might be worth a check in your part of the world to see if we get common answers to the question.

Sorry to necro an old thread- but i'm having the same issue- only maybe not as bad yet...

Does anyone know if the "valve body" is something i can change/fix myself rather than taking it to the stealers?

Sorry to double necro the thread, but my 2002 307 got this auto gearbox fault after a loose wheel arch trim and water (when washing the car) touched the ecu 'disconnecting' it from everything

However I got the car checked with planet and had fault codes reset, and all was well once more :P.

Thus my 2 cents are that find a person with Peugeot Planet on the forum who is near you and get them to check it .

However if you have already fixed it or gotten rid of it (Which you might have done considering this eons old thread) I hope this info can be useful to other unfortunate pug owners who run into this problem.

Also food for thought: NEVER and I emphasize NEVER DRIVER THROUGH PUDDLES!! It may seem like fun, but in modern cars with ecus it can be fatal for your wallet!
