Default Exhaust fell off

Just what I need around Xmas.

The back silencer broke away from the centre pipe.

The car sounded like a race car and a shower of sparks flew out of the back with the exhaust pipe dragging its arse on the floor.

This was 'cool' for about 10 minutes and then the novelty wore off.

I blame the state of the roads, pot 'oles all over the shop.

How much to fix - it looks like the box itself is OK - its the end of the middle pipe that rotted.

ps Merry Xmas all you people out there in cyber space.

my back box fell off back in the day of owning a 307... i bought a new rubber mount from dealers (as that had snapped) and got a connector for the exhaust for free from kwikfit as that was missing. anyways it turned out my baffles were knackered so new exhaust it was.

anyways according to the fellas at National Exhausts and tyres it costs £108 on all peugeots at the time for a back box, from a convo they said its the same price for the middle part of the exhaust as they said mine was rusty and needs replacing soon.

Mine's also looking a bit rusty. Peugeot said they go all the time. That crappy built in strap doesn't help as it corrodes, breaks through and doesn't support the exhaust.

The genuine Pug box is around £100 but Euro Car Parts do one for about £28 with the 25% off discount.

Replacement mounts are about a tenner (there are two) and the clamp to join it to the middle box is a fiver.

Thanks chaps - so looking at a ton then.

Think I'll take her for a spin in a minute - the sparks should look better in the dark.

Thanks for the promo code Gibbers - but basically I'm a lazy git and there's no waaaay ha hay that I'm scrabbling on the floor to try and fix it myself. It's off to the local speed fit place tomoz.

£119 all in - centre pipe and back box - as this was about to flake out as well.

Spluttered into the garage at 9.30 am - cup of tea in a warm comfy waiting room while the job was done - cruised out at 10.00 am.

Always go to this place for tyres and exhausts - good prices and top knotch service.

BUCKLEY TYRE SERVICES.

ps I am in no way affiliated with them - they deserve a mention as good prices and good service is a rare thing nowdays.
