Default Door Fails to open, quoted £450 plus

Hello All,

Just back from the Dealer with my 307 SW (06) 152000 on clock, been quoted £450 for possible worse case scenario. Front nearside door.

Went to local independant garage, well.....

Does anyone have any experiance on the same lines as this.

Last December had new engine plus turbo put in all for £1400 with 19000 + miles, what next...

What to do..

Cheers for now.

If you can't open the door don't park so close to the wall!

OK, seriously, a little more detail may help others understand what you mean by door fails to open

Yes, sorry should of put more in... when using the remote key there is the sound of it opening and closing but it fails to open, even when pulling on both the handles outside and the in one inside of the door. There is no key hole for the passenger door.

The customers services said that they may have to smash the lock, after taking the door card off.

I hope this helps

is there anyone near you with peugeot planet ?? i think the locks can be actuated with it and would be a good place to start in my opinion, if theres no-one near but others can confirm planet would work i would spend the £100 or so on that.

Question if it was my car

i would take the door panel of and open the door find the fault and repair it if possible,if not then replace only the faulty bit.

I'd say its probably a broken or disconnected rod inside, or worst case (which isnt really a worst case) a faulty lock actuator

No harm in taking door card off and trying to manually open it, are you sure there is an unlocking noise coming from that door?

either way definately not a £450 quid job, even if you had to replace the actuator, rods and locking mechanism you could pick them all up from a scrappy because none of it is specific to your car!

The noise is the same as before it went, blip the fob and the only thing not happening is the opening of the door, both handles operate but nothing...
