While trying to find where the water was coming in and filling the spare wheel compartment (a 307 with potential hot tub....) I discovered a spare plug in the boot coming from the same part of the loom that connect the lights. Can anyone tell me what it is for and is there anything particularly useful I could do with it?

Parcel shelf speakers perhaps?
Did 307s have speakers in the parcel shelf - I can't remember if my 51 plater did, the 05 doesn't.

Nope, there's no parcel shelf speakers, the rear speakers are at the back seats (3 door).

looks like a cable that goes to pdc ecu. goes from rear fuse box and bsi. if you take a closer look there are 2 free screws on the side underneath it, thats where the pdc ecu is placed.

Take it that means buying the ECU and a new bumper with sensors?

almost, hardest part of the job is already done for you. that is, wiring the pdc ecu to bsi and everywhere. what you would have to do now, is get the sensors, pdc ecu and the sensors harness, drill up the rear bumper and connect everything.
and activate in pp
