Hi
I have a fault with 307 hdi sport CC (136), at idle wether hot or cold it rattles/vibrates intermittently, owned the car of about 10 months and fine untill a couple of weeks ago when this started. Any ideas, also how do you remove the plastic engine cover on this model, cant find any plastic screw/clips that I had on previous hdi models. |

my 407 clips on, and pulls off. Would need more info on the rattle, does it go when you push the clutch pedal, is it noisy on start-up and switch off?? It may be a flywheel or belt pulley. can you describe the rattle with a bit more detail? May just be something touching the chassis.

Does it make a ratteling sound between 800 and 1200 rpm's?
Does the sound clear up at about 1300 rpm's Does it disappear for a while (when stopped at traffic lights) and then suddenly reappear? I have the same problem on my soon to be traded in 307. On my soon to be ex car the problem is caused by 2 injectiors that are leaking. and a dodget EGR valve. Check for what look like oil deposits by the injectors to start with. |

Hard to describe but it seems the whole engine vibrates, it doesn't do this all the time however, I have the car this week so will check out further. My wife reckons it also has a flat spot in 4th gear when accelerating hard but clears when put in 5th. For information car is a 2007 with only 32k miles.
WIll check for oil deposits tommorrow thanks for your help |

Note, There won't be any oil deposits on your engine as its 2.0, as far as i remember Hysteria says his car is 1.6hdi, thus a whole lot different.

First drive this morning problem not re-occured yet, however when we bought the car it had 27.5k miles on it and had been serviced at peugeot 2 weeks prior, the mileage till next service reading when you turned the ignition on was showing 19.5k to go. the last time I drove the car it (bout a month ago) was showing 15k to go which ties up with the 5k miles the car has done in our ownership (27k-32k) i noticed this morning it is now showing 4,850k miles to go a drop of 10k!
Any ideas? |

As to the problem of your maintenance intervals suddenly going nuts can you please post here what was maintained the last time by the mechanic just to rule out a few things. Given all your symptoms I wouldn't rule out the engine managment system. |

Having a peugeot specialist look at car tommorrow, will post findings if any!
Was suggested that it could be a leak from the diesel filter housing apparently this is common on the 136 BHP HDi, causes similar symptons and doesn't cause the engine management light to come on. |
