Default Urgent help needed! electrical fault

Hi all.

I need some ideas on what my issue could be. Last night at midnight me and my ygm were in her 306 1.4 2000 coming up a exit slip road when near the top all of the electric cut out. And I mean all... no lights, no hazards, no pas, no dash and no engine!. The car died and on a slip road in the dark with lorries hurtling at you isn't pleasant.

Anyways I managed to push it over the hill to safety and whilst waiting to be picked up by family I investigated. its not the battery alternate etc as the car turns over and start but promply loses revs and dies. All fluids are fine etc so I do beleyive it to be electrical.

At this point we turned the ignition off from p2 and turned the lights off (not that they were working). This started.a buzzing noise from the footwell fuse box. I found it to be a relay which I now think to be the flasher relay (3 pins, grey box). Anyways the buzzing sounded like electrical arcing so I've left it disconnected for now. It's worth mentioning that this noise stops when trying tho turn on the head lights.

Any idea what this could be? Thanks

I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that aside from the 607 no pug was multiplexed til late 2001 for the 2002 MY, so it shouldn't have BSI. Sounds more like the fuel injection relay.

In any event, a look on Servicebox should identify the relay.
