Default heater fuse keeps blowing

Hiya,

I have a 306 turbo diesel s, 1.9.

My problem is that my fuse that operates the heating and blowers etc keeps blowing. The fan that puts air through the vents works ok but then within 2 seconds of turning the key and you feel the blowers come on the fuse blows.

Also the blowers still come on (when a new fuse is put in) even though the power dial is switched to off. My hazard lights dont work either. Can anyone help.

If you need any more info just ask.

Regards

Mark

Have you checked there's no water getting into the heater unit? There could be something short circuiting it

Edit: Try taking the kick panel out the passenger side footwell, and remove the fan unit. Give it a clean. If the fan is struggling to spin, it could blow the fuse that way.

That's what happened with my wipers when I tried to clear snow away, too much work and effort blew the fuse on my 306 had to get out every couple of miles and manually drag the wipers to clean the screen. Not very efficient i must say.
