hey i have a 306 style im sure thats what its called, anyway, its a 1.9 non turbo diesel, my mate has a spare turbo off a d turbo i think it is or a 1.9 lx turbo i think thats what he said it is, i was wondering if they are the same block so that the turbo will fit correctly and not cook my engine? thanks very much

if it is the same size engine and uses same fuel etc you should be good. the wording style and lx just means trim level...features...but i could be incorrect.
edit: thinking about it you might need to add a few more things aswell to get it to work, such as harnesses and sensors...but again i could be wrong

As long as the turbo is off an old style d turbo and not one of the later HDI's you could be in luck
As mentioned though there could be additional extras to think about, an intercooler will definately be missing for a start! Just for reference, the non turbo engine should be an XUD9 and the turbo intercooler version which is closest to it will be an XUD9 TE (i think!)

Easiest way to do it is turbo of 306 dturbo non hdi and bosch fuel pump off same then just bolt on, No wires on the tubros at all to worry about only thing i am thinking about is the pistons and compression ratios for turbod engine and none turbod engines, I would think the none turbo engines would have a higher cr ratio and unless you reduced it will just blow head gaskets, Also dont know if the turbo heads are differant some have sodium cooled exhaust valves.
I would do plenty of reasearch first anythings possible but it the hassle it might casue doing it, It might be easier buying a used engine and box as all the gear ratios will be differant in the turbo model as well Kev |
