My daughter has just purchased an N reg 306 xnd and was told it needed new rear shocks but after taking it to quick fit it turns out that the rear suspension is seized solid.
Strange this car was purchased from a dealer (a cheap px car) but it had a new MOT in june it seems strange to me that this has hapened since then. But that is something i am going to take up with the garage that done the MOT. Anyway does anybody know if it is a hard job to rectify Cheers |

i'd assume that you could get the dealer, where you bought it to fix it under some sales of goods act. save a few pennies there.

The rear beams can degrade quite quicky. Seized suspenders wounld'd fail an MOT, but the opposite, excessive play would.
You got the Sale of Goods Act on your side, unfit for purpose ("sold as seen" is meaningless under consumer law as it applies to cars, and offers the dealer no protection, but the rely on the punter not knowing that. R.Mountjoy Engineering, 01404 881325, does high quality re-engineered beams from £411 delivered. Well worth investing in if the car is otherwise solid.
