depending on whether your engine is the older TUD9 or the newer DW8:
TUD9 Engine: 10/40 Semi synthetic (6k service intervals) DW8 Engine: 10/40 Semi synthetic (10k service intervals)

Sorry for double post, my mate who worked for Citroen and Peugeot advised me that from 1998 Peugeot/Citroen group had introduced DW8 engine with 6k intervals up to Aug98, then 10k from Aug98, but there was an over run of 1997 manufactured cars registered 1998 and these had the older and more reliable TUD9 engine, but all used the same grade oil
