can you help with these noises?

Hi all im new here
we recently purchased a Peugeot 306 glx dt
r-reg, there are a couple of things id like help with please
if you can maybe identify the problem (although i do understand its hard on a forum) and maybe how much to fix? id be greatful.
first thing when my partner turns round a sharp corner there is a knocking sound under him as if the wheel on his side is hitting something?
second is (my partner reckons suspension is on its way out) when we get out of the car (family of 5) the car creaks from the back end, and yesterday we were out driving in the rain and it kept creaking while we were driving(though this was a squeeking creak so maybe due to the wet?) thanks in advance for any help offered and if you need anymore info please ask

Dunno bout the creaking but the knocking noise in my experience has usually been a wheel bearing \ driveshaft, something like that?
