Alternator belt size

Hi,

I have a Peugeot 306 1.9 turbo diesel (1996) 3door

I am trying to change the alternator belt. The belt I have purchased it a QBR61132

It seems like it might be too small as I am really struggling to get it on

Does anyone know the correct belt size I should be using? If there is a special trick to getting them on?

I have a 1.4 petrol and I had bother with the alt belt, it took 2 of us and a big lever bar
