Hi can someone please help me with this odd 306 fault,
Its a 306 XRDT that has been great to me but has developed this odd fault, when driving the car will feel like its trying to accelerate itself then when you dip the clutch the revs stay at about 2500 - 3000 and will stay there for a little bit then rest at normal. If i tap the accel pedal when its reving high, it still seems to stay there. Hope i have explained this well Thanks Gary |

hi, it would seem to a sticking throttle mechanism, open the bonnet disconnect the throttle cable and manually move the throttle on the pump with the engine running to make sure it returns to idle itself when you let go to eliminate a sticking throttle cable, im not sure if your model has a throttle damper fitted but it could be this that if causing your problem if its worn
