306 gearbox

Please can someone tell me.....my gearbox on a 2000 reg 306 1.4 petrol has gone bang and i need a new one. I have found a 1994 306 1.4 petrol but im not sure if this will just fit in. Many thanks if you can help!

It should be the BE gearbox. It has reinforced fins on the front end of it. Thats how to recognise it. If i was you I'd come up the years and get a newer box.

Thanks very much for this. Ill keep looking and waiting for a newer one at a scrap yard near by as the cheapest ive found is £158.
