My peugeot 306 Meridian (1999) cuts out/stalls when I move off from being stationary. Once moving it seems to be fine but evertytime I stop at a junction or roundabout the engine cuts out as I go to move off. The same happens as I begin to reverse the car. The revs appear to drop as I apply my foot to the accelerator.
Can anybody tell me what maybe causing this and what needs to be done to fix it? Cheers |

hi im assuming that basically its whenever you apply the brakes this problem arises, have a check of the vacuum hoses to make sure you have no leaks in the system

Get the engine ecu read. This is a common problem in the 306 with the Sagem SL 96 engine management system. If the ecu has a fault pointing to a idle fault than the coil has spiked the engine ecu and the idle control stepper motor. Only cure would be to disconnect the idle speed stepper motor when the engine is cold ie setting the idle speed at a high setting. Alternatively you can replace the engine ecu, coil and stepper motor.
As I said get a diagnostic check done first.
