306 cab - roof problem

Cabriolet roof is playing up. 25k miles car and roof not used much in last 5 years. However, it was working fine for 2-3 weeks until a couple of days ago. Then it wouldn't close correctly...would get half way up and stop, requiring human intervention to complete the job. Did that on a few occasions. Now it won't go down or up under button power either. There is still resistance to movement when the ignition switch is in hood operation position. Human method is still working perfectly! Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.
