Hi,
I have just bought an old 1999 306 Estate which has had some wiper issues prior to owning. However, I assumed that this would be related to the motor as it only working in 1 speed and not self parking and does not have a rain sensor (or so I believed). After some investigative work, I tested the motor etc and after reading many posts on forums it seemed that people referred to a stick with an Auto function on as having a rain sensor. My vehicle does have an auto function on the stick, which made me scratch my head a bit. So I looked at my new purchase more closely to realise that the windscreen had been replaced at some point as it did not bear the Peugeot logo as all my other windows do. So I decided to call Peugeot and queried my chassis number with them.....low and behold my car SHOULD have a rain sensor. After rummaging around in the roof under the interior light, I eventually found the 11pin plug that should be plugged into the sensor on the window Unfortunately, the Haynes manual does not show a wiring diagram for the wipers with a rain sensor only the standard intermittent wipe driven by the 8 pin relay. Mine has two 5 pin relays. I can hear one of the relays pulling in when I operate the only continuous speed that works. Without the wiring Diagram I am going blind and can only assume that when the rain sensor is plugged in, it completed the circuit providing a constant power feed to the second relay so that both of the relays pull in together in order for park and the other continuous speed to work? If anyone out there has a wiring diagram for these rain sensor wipers or even if you know where the pins on the rain sensor plug go I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks Lucy |
