End of May beginning of June Wifey and I take delivery of a 3008 Exclusive HDi 112 in Vapour Grey with Sat-Nav and leather seats .
Present car is a Qashqai +2, previous car was a 5 Seat Qashqai so you can see we are very pleased with them , so any car that replaced them has to be good , we looked at a few crossover's before going in to a Peugeot showroom and saw a 3008 ,now I have never been keen on the large black grills that some Peugeot's have but the chrome squares on the 3008 make all the difference so we liked the outside but when we sat in that was a WOW, not just because of the cockpit but because the seats are so comfortable and there is such a feeling of space , this was on a Monday a test drive was arranged for Wednesday , we decided that even though we liked what we had seen it would have to be a very good drive for us to change from our lovely Qashqai, well 10 minuets into the 1 hour drive we both thought this is another WOW, it is a quiet drive, takes bends very well, rides rough roads very well, the 1.6 engine pulls very well, both our Qashqai's had been the 1.5dci which is very good , but the 1.6 feels more than 100cc extra, possibly Hdi is better than Dci ? ? . One thing that I don't like is the colour choice ! if you don't want shades of grey or black there is not much choice and I am surprised that you need a key for the fuel cap, but I am sure we are going to really enjoy it, [and the car]

Greetings and welcome.
The Qashqai is a good, decent car, but the 3008 is simply better even than the new version. Better engines, economy, comfort, drive, ride, boot. It's by the witdth of a pube, but better nonetheless. True, Nissan do make a 4x4 option, but less than 5% of all Qashqai sales have this, so it shows how much the market values it...or not. I don't mind the key operated fuel filler - a locking flap is usually held closed by a plastic tab, making the 'locking' function little more than cosmetic. I'd agree with the colour choice comment - apart from dog squit beige, the colours are pretty pedestrian (I've got Shark Grey). A funky red or blue would be nice, but I think PSA may be deliberate avoiding that in their efforts to try and drag the brand upmarket a little. Hope you enjoy the new motor there feller. I'm loving mine.

Thank you for the welcome, That's a good point about the filler cap
with the way fuel prices are going it could be very important. |

I have an Exclusive 150 HDi and have been delighted with it, I'm sure you will be too.
These days I think the cubic capacities of engines is not so relavant when comparing - it may only be 100cc different but what is the difference in BHP? It's amazing how they keep getting more power out of engines - years ago I had a new 405 2.0 turbo diesel that produced 92BHP, which was great at the time - now my 3008 2.0 produces 150BHP. |

It's not so much the power that amazes me (my 1991 Yamaha makes nigh on 150BHP), but rather the economy they can squeeze out of these designs. The 3008 is a tonne and a half of lard, with 5 proper seats and decent boot, yet still gave me 58.7MPG average out the last tankful.
Now that's impressive. The new Hybrid 4 looks better still, though at North of £25k it's a pretty expensive way to save a few pence on fuel.
