Hi everyone
been lurking here for a couple of weeks and have today taken delivery of a 3008 1.6 vti exclusive - loving it so far - but have noticed that whenever engine is turned off, and am outside of car, what sounds like a fan continues to run for a few minutes. Anything to be concerned about? Do any of you have this? Many thanks Fiona |

If your car is a diesel its more than likely cooling itsllf after a regeneration or part regen.

i did wonder if this was connected to a Regen, but as this is my first Peugeot i have no experience of what happens in a Regen process
my previous Mazda showed no signs of when a Regen was happening (except the fuel econ going through the floor) although i had a zafira which you certainly knew when a Regen was in process. burning smell ,and an exhaust note which sounds like its got a hole |

Rememeber to take your car out on a run if it mainly gets used for town driving. A run meaning keeping it above 50mph for ten minutes or more |

i cover 20k a year mostly dual and motorway not much town driving.
the mazda sysytem has a weird dpf system as it dumps diesel into the sump, and if you dont keep an eye on the dip stick its likely that a new engine is needed due to the oil being picked up by the breather |

It's the EGR going through it's programmed cleaning cycle to keep the bobbin nice 'n' shiny. It's noticeably noisy on the 3008 and 5008 1.6 HDi's for some reason.
