Hi All
I purchased a demo 2011 3008 1.6THP manual last week. It is silver and has the premium package (has all the kit excl panoramic roof, head up display and xenon lights). It is 2 months old and only has 2500km on. I traded in a Ford Ranger Supercab as we are expecting our first child and a babyseat cannot fit into the back of the Ranger. Both my wife and I are loving the car - the interior is amazing and the 1.6 turbo does not dissappoint when you give it stick! Only minor gripe is that the plastic on the centre console between the front seats creaks a little when cornering and going over rough tarmac - anyone else had this? |

I purchased a new one in Dubai few weeks ago and I have the same problem. The dashboard seems to be a bit loose and wobbly. Also, when driving over uneven road I can hear doors moving up and down against the door seals. This noise becomes louder if the car is exposed to a daily heat. Several reviews are referring to a low quality and cheap interior build. I noticed that these reviews are mostly from Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

welcome to the forum...both of yous.
i suspect that what you have both said about the noises etc would be down the natural properties of the materials such as rubber and plastic in high temperature zones...as it will be expanding during sunlight and rapid contraction in the cool of the night...if that makes sense. what i said is probably a load of bull...but its an idea. anyways like i said welcome.

Don't have any such noises from mine (in the UK). Almost a year old now.

It is well known that consumer electronic products that do not comply with strict European quality standards end up in the middle east. I don't see why cars would be any different. I've attached the image of passenger grab handle that can be used as a driving license holder (helps reduce the noise from loose handle too).

I can confirm that this afflicts mine, but only in the warmer weather. I know another 3008 member who's does the same.
Not a fault as such, but a slightly annoying design oversight. I have thought about delving in there with the dry lube etc trying to locate it, but it's not really a problem and can't be arsed. I'll mention it next service, but if it's a design problem as I suspect, rather than something fitted incorrectly, i doubt there's much can be done.
