Default Moving on from 3008...........

After having a 3008 for eight months it's now time to move on to something better and a lot more reliable hopefully. No idea what I am moving to but it won't be another 3008 or any Peugeot come to that.

It's a shame as it's a good drive, brilliant mpg and very comfortable but it's reliability is poor.

Over the last eight months I have had a bad misfire a number of times and never got to the bottom of it, a new rear wiper motor, new radiator, new coolant pressure cap, a new cooling fan (the rad, fan and pressure cap were all unrelated faults) a new oil cooler and three punctures! Ok I know that happens to any car but new tyres alone have come to over £400!

In short a lovely car to drive and all the faults have been done under warranty but it's time to move on

I forgot to mention the cd player not working but the radio is, it looks like they are looking at putting in a new one for that fault as well.

My first 3008 was a hound, worse than yours by a mile. My 2nd has so far only had one small problem. I was reluctant to move to something else solely on the basis of one example being shite, and so far I've been vindicated. Not quite sure though how the punctures are the car's fault...?

I'm thinking of a 508SW next, trying to blag an extended test drive for a weekend or summat - I ain't spending the thick end of £25k on the basis of a half hour spin, but some dealers think people are thick enough to do so (and doubtless some are).

Obviously it's not and I did say that all cars get punctures I was just saying the tyres added up to over £400 that's all. Anyway she has now been sold and she goes in two weeks. She's 18 months old with 18k on the clock and I got 12530 for her in px.

Shame but that's life

But try finding a car that doesn't have tyres...

That sort of age and mileage they're selling on the forecourt for IRO £15k up here.

What do you fancy next that will meet the needs the 3008 did (but without breaking)?

Whatever happened to the tweel?

Tweel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That would be great for getting rid of the puncture problem...
